I'll overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two time world heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I will damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, consistently making substantial paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for 2026.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
